Smile Need help with buying this Monte SS!! So excited.

Hey guys, It's me again. I'm not sure where else to post this question (if in the wrong place mods please move) but I came across a monte and took some pictures and I was wondering if anyone can help me decide if I should buy this or skip. The vehicle is a 1986 Monte SS (true SS) not a clone. I'm going to upload the pictures now. Please take a look and let me know what you think. The vehicle does run, and he has been offered 1500 when it "wasn't running". The suspension felt good and no rattling or squeaking when I was pushing down, hard. The interior was good, wasn't musty so no water damage or any water on the inside I dont believe there was any. Trunk and hood had no rust. Only the quarter panels and a little bit on the rocker panels was rusted. Only downside is everything is original and is at 197k miles on it. here are the pictures. Thanks again Pictures by emnasty600 - Photobucket

I would pass. That car is in terrible shape. I am willing to be that the car will not pass inspection when it comes time.

Did I post in the right section? theres a few on craigs list i will be venturing out and taking a look at and i want to take pictures and put up info somewhere and get guidance as whether if I should buy a particular one or not. Where can a start a thread dedicated to finding a monte or just general help on buying one? Thanks again.

Of course with money, right tools/connections, anything can be salvaged, but it does look to have seen better days... That's too bad, like those body styles. There's one near where I work just sitting there....

Go ahead and start a thread in the General Monte Carlo Talk section. Thats probably the best place for the thread. You can just keep updating it as you go. I think when you are finished it would make a pretty good "buyers guide" reference for 4th gens.
