Default Hot Engine

Hello, fellow Monte's I am new to fourm, after reading some of the postings I knew I was in the right place. I have an 2003 MC-SS 3800 series 2 72,000 miles when I start car 5min later dipstick is too hot to touch if I let car run the temprature guage in car reads normal but the engine gets very hot and starts to knock as if no oil is in it things already tested are fluid in radiator.

Rick I am glad that you caught it before it became a carbecue. It sounds like you have some serious issues that need to be addressed. The gaskets may have failed due to the excessive heat. I hope you are able to get it resolved soon. Gregg
