Default 06 Monte "Engine HOT, A/C Off" on DIC

I had this message come up once last year and it went away on the DIC. However it came up right at start up so I knew it was not truly hot. Anyways, this year, it has come up twice now, including this morning again! I ran it in to the dealer last Friday and they hooked up the Tech-II and said it was the Engine Temperature Sensor that was flaky.NOTE..it is not the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. I am going in tomorrow to get it replaced under warranty. Just wondering if anyone else has had this come up as well??

Regards,

Jason

sorry for resurrecting such an old thread, but can you verify what they did to correct this? I took my 2006 LT 3.9 to the dealer for the exact same issue and was told (I thought) "engine coolant temperature sensor and sticky thermostat". My extended warranty had run out and didn't have the money to have them fix it, so I thought I would give it a go on my own.

I just replaced the ECT sensor and still get "Engine Hot A/C off". My Google-fu and scanning Rock automotive only found an oil temperature sensor and ECT sensor for this engine.

Does anyone have some suggestions?
