We have the same car so yours has to be like mine of course mine had 108k and someone definantly tampered with it. But it is a HS in the VIN.

Hey Dave, we do in fact have the exact same car. I had the silver ground effects and such on her back then. Sadly I don't even have a photo of it when it was stock. Always thought it was just fine like it was, never did a thing to it. Then one of my friends who had the Turbo VW GTI chided me into adding a turbo and there it went from there. My very first mod, a turbo system. Your pretty knowledgable on things, nice!!

Thats nice, factory SC and all options. Sweet ride for sure. Mine had quite a few, seems like the one I did not have was heated mirrors.

I can think of 3 possiblities:
- Your car either had a cluster swapped at some point
- The HS ground fx were not put on at the factory
- It has to do with being a SuperCharged Monte (maybe GM decided to skimp on the Bow Tie speedo).
GM has been known to do different things between years.....

I vote this is the reason...

That makes sense. I think the HS is my favorite part of the monte. Its why mine stood out to me when I bought it. It was the first HS I had ever seen.

I'm certain the chevy bow tie on the speedo with the words "Limited Edition" were on any car from the factory that came with the HighSport ground FX. I know it was not exclusive to the "Pace Car".... I even sold a cluster I pulled form a non-pace car that had those two items and (destroyed) High Sport ground fx.
