Default help

I have a 2000 Monte Carlo I ave had it for a couple of months no I tried changing out the factory radio but couldn't get any sound it doesn't have the amp but was working before I changed out what do I do to get sound back?

sounds like you got something wired wrong, double check wiring.

Hi `Jet,
Reverse what you did ?
Have you ever done a radio removal or install before ?
Do you have a electrical tester to check for power ?
Please post more details on your problem & what you have
disconnected, etc.

It's difficult to help with the words you posted.

How sure are you that it doesn't have an amp? Look under the rear parcel shelf in the trunk. In between the two speakers is an aluminum box that's the amp.

If you have an amp and you don't hook up the enable line, you won't get any sound.

Most stereos have an antenna enable line or power antenna line that will work for the amplifier enable.

Did you swap another factory radio into your car? If so, you need to go to a shop (or dealer) that has a Tech II scanner (or equivalent) and have the VIN stored in the radio's memory matched to your cars VIN.


If it's an aftermarket radio you need an adapter harness that will make the radio compatible with the original wiring harness in the car.
