It's been a while, but if memory serves me, your flashing problem can be solved with a resistor. Not a capacitor. The system is looking for the same resistance as the original incandescent bulb. The led doesn't match, so the car thinks the bulb is burnt out and flashes quickly. Matching the resistance with an incandescent bulb should take care of it.

Taz (Lou) is right. You need to put a resistor in the line because right now the car is getting a reading of like .5v and that's within the measure of assuming it's blown out.
You don't need to change the spark plugs from stock. In the future when you begin thinking about engine modifications, don't worry about the ignition system. The stock one is VERY competent to handle a lot. It's one of the things that is better to stay stock. Unless you are boosting the car and NEED colder spark plugs.
There are TONS of things you can do to that car. You will be amazed at the aftermarket of that engine. Take a look at some people's Garage (to the right of their avatar should be a link). A lot of us here have done a lot to our rides
