Default Got a Monte!!

Hey everyone! My name is Derrick and I recently traded for a 2002 MC SS with 99k miles. Had to trade my beautiful 98 K2500 work truck for her, but I just don't need that size truck anymore! I'm currently a full-time agriculture student in Northern California and needed a better commuter, so I was stoked to have this offer for the Monte. My mother had a brand new one in 01 and I can remember how much fun it was when I was a kid

But alas, with every 20 year old car comes with its run of issues. This thing actually has great carfax reports and maintenance records from the shop so I want to keep it in good shape, and learn something new in the process! I am by no means a mechanic but I'm tired of being screwed over by overpriced shops or shotty mechanics, and I'm ready to dive in and learn how to fix this myself. I feel very fortunate to find a forum of people who genuinely love this car and helping others fix their Monte Carlo.

I'm very much looking forward to talking with y'all on this subject and restoring/upgrading my new-to-me MC! This car is really growing on me and I want to take care of her as best as I can! Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks ya'll!!

So far with the help of this forum, I've fixed an easy P0301 code and diagnosed my non-working low beams to the Multi Function Switch, just replaced and now they're working fine!

Took it to my favorite shop for an oil change and inspection, they said one of the best looking, 20+ year old cars under 100k miles they've seen in awhile so I definitely feel good about trading my truck
