Got me a Monte again!!
Hey all! My name is Tony and I used to have a 2003 LS that I bought new back in the day. Loved that car, even though it only had the 3.4L and base options. Had it until 2016 when a deer decided to commit suicide by running into it. Unfortunately, the insurance company decided it was cheaper to give me a check for my 13 year old car rather than fix it. At the time, I had to make a quick decision and get transportation to and from work. Shouldn't have, but I took the check and got a different car...
Just this Sunday I bought a 2007 Monte Carlo SS!! It needs very little work, but I plan on making it as nice as I can. I'm 50 now, semi-retired and 2 of 3 kids out of the house, so I treated myself to the Monte for a Father's Day present! Flew into Kentucky to pick up, then drove it to the Chicago suburbs and surprised my dad with a visit-which was his Father's Day present! Drove it back down to where I live in the Richmond, Virginia suburbs on Tuesday.
Can't wait to get some ideas on how to improve a 2007 SS from some of the forum members. I hear the transmission is the weak link, but I'm sure the folks on the forum here know how to deal with that.
