Hey all, name is Matt. A few years ago I had the opportunity to buy the kind of car I’d wanted since before I could drive. I bought it right, but it needed some rust repair. Found someone to do it, said it would take a reasonable amount of time- then it just drug on… for almost five years… finally got it back last weekend. Here is my 86 SS that has been dubbed CarloSS. I might need some help remembering how to put things back together moving forward, and it will be a slow process

Very Nice! Welcome to the group. If I am following correctly, you also had the color changed during the rust repair?

Correct, decided a complete paint job was in order because at some point someone had painted it, maybe with a brush- and maybe it was Ray Charles the way it looked…. So I decided I wanted to do a color change as well. It’s not an SS correct color, but it is a GM color

It looks good and all that matters is YOU like the color.

That’s a good looking Monte. Love the T-top and cowl hood.

Thank you. Sometimes I feel like I would like a hardtop more, but (from the little I remember) it’s pretty nice to drive around with the t-tops out

I think T-tops look cooler than hardtops myself. And with a garage or a cover, youncan minimize the water leaks. I’m sure riding with them down on a summer day is a blast.
