Hey in NYC do you have to have front plates?
If not I would just remove the front plate bracket. I really like those strips

Here's what I was able to find out about the pace car edition, from a dealer...

"Pace Car Edition is built by Rocky Ridge Vans (www.rockyridgevans.com) in Royston, Ga about 2 miles from the dealership I sell at. One of their salesmen had the car here a few weeks ago. Took a few pictures. It is about a $7,000 package that includes wheels, two-tone leather seats, stripes, hood scoop, interior trim and flow master exhaust. The dealer is calling it a pace car but since it is not offered directly by GM that way it's really just a dolled up car to increase the profits."

So, from the sounds of it, there really is no more horsepower/torque to it... it's still a standard SS, just with racing stripes, upholstry, wheels, and other little accessories, etc etc...

Yeah i figured the dealer just embelished a bit on that part. Either way, i still would have got the car! LOL!!! It does have the Flowmaster Exhaust System which is an upgrade to the more restrictive stock system, but nothing substantial. maybe 5-8 hp.
Also, it has badges all over the interior that say"Officially Liscensed Pace Car" & "NASCAR" on each badge. So the dealer is not wrong by selling it as a "Pace Car Edition" I believe there is also paperwork from NASCAR stating such. I have to look into that. All in all, the difference is 90%cosmetic.

Here's another update as far as any power increase is concerened. Sales rep at the dealer just told me that as it is a conversion vehicle, GM can't publish or list an increase in power as the conversion parts are not GM parts(ie Flowmaster Exhaust). The numbers given to me were just estimates that have no guarentee. (So basically, just a horse sh_t selling ploy! LOL!!) However, the Flowmaster exhaust used on this vehicle is a less restrictive exhaust than the one on the stock SS. That being said, it would hold true that there is some kind of power gain. Why else would people change a factory exhaust to an aftermarket one? What the difference in power is exactly is beyond my knowledge. So a reasonable GUESSTIMATE would be 10hp? So a 315hp & 330lb/ft torque compared to the 303hp & 323lb/ft torque of the stockk SS may not exactly be too unreasonable.

do you know which flowmaster's are on there? 40's? 30's? I've been thinking of changing the stock mufflers to flowmasters myself... want more sound/growl than the stock ones provide...

ok, cool.. thx!

also, with those flow's on there, do you find it to be too loud in the inside when driving?? I'd like more/louder growl outside, but don't want to get a lot of interior resonance and not be able to talk to anyone inside LOL
