Default another noob to the site here!

Just dropping by to give a quick lil into of myself and the car. Im 31, live in Houston and love building anything pretty much with wheels. Im one of those guys with too many projects and cant pass up a good deal on another unless im just too broke. Ive wanted one of the 78-80 montes since I was a kid, back in my lowrider days, but never could find one here in Texas. I joined the Army in 2001 and bought my '80 MC from a guy in Washington while stationed at FT. Lewis. I paid $400 for the car with a blown head gasket on the original 267 motor with 191k, fixed that and rode it another year until it crapped on me at 231k.

Well by this time I had driven the car from Washington, back here to Texas, and then to Virginia where my ex-wife and me resided at the time the motor gave up. I was out of the Army, and working at a Chevrolet dealership in Sterling, Va and came across a really good deal on a 350 Vortec from a '98 Carmax shuttle van, hopped it up a bit, and rode that for another 2 almost 3 years. After losing my license behind unpaid speeding tickets, I decided to sell the motor and the car. 2 years later I bought the body of my car back, the guy hadnt done a thing to it since the day i dropped it off to him and had sold it to a friend of mine, who let me buy it back from him, still untouched, title never signed over or anything.
Now im in the process of building her back up again for the street, as a daily driver, just really nice with some nice gm options, alot of them just shadetree gm upgrades. Id like to keep the car built with as many Gm parts as I can. Might be asking alot of questions too, but im known for searching and finding the info i want.

Havent decided on a trans yet, i really would like it to be 5-speed, but for now i think ill go automatic, just not sure yet. might come across something in due time. but im getting close to firing up the motor, so im pretty exicted now. ill be back behind the wheel soon enough
