RE: 2007 monte SS
Very Cool!
I like the color too, not too blue. I've seen car's with conversions in some crazy colors, turn blue then purple as they drive past and all.
Nice to see just plug and go. No seriousmodification required. Definitely good to silicone seal and ziptie, the HID theives usually stick to vehicles that have them stock, but a little extra security isn't a bad thing by any means. Especially since with the hood open removal doesn't require any special tools other than a wrench for the single bolt that has to come off.
Did you notice a big change in the light pattern on the ground? I know if the actual light emitting part of the bulb isn't exactly where the stock one is, the pattern could become much wider (blinding oncoming traffic), or even much narrower, limiting it's usefulness. (like on a mini-mag as you turn the lens housingthe beam expands/contracts)
Thanks for the pics, they look awesome! I might just have to get myself some. I mean a pair of H9's for the lows is 40$ for the set I want anyway, so pay double and get a set of HID's that should last a lifetime! Did you re-aim the lights when you changed to the HID?
I've been thinking about raising my low beams up because they don't seem to penetrate as far as I think they should. But it could just be a problem with the stockers being a rather weak/cheap bulb as well.
Did you get a lot of people flash the brights as if you had yours on? I ask because it's not uncommen for ppl to flash me even with mine being stock.
Again thanks for all the info, I wasn't even considering HID's because I figgured there would be a LOT more hacking and wiring involved, but it looks extremely simple for the benefit. So now, it's definitely going on my to do list.

Welcome Paul from MI from another MCF member from MI, but on the other side of the state. LOVE the color red on your '07. Don't think I've ever seen one that color. You have a VERY rare car there, especially in a rare color. Just not many of those cars made, what about 1,000, if that? I'm definately interested in the HID's, also. What are you looking for in wheels? How about 20's? Got any other plans, like stereo upgrades?
