2005 Sweet Black Monte Carlo
Hi! Everyone! Thanks for letting me join! I'm thinking of buying a really nice black monte carlo really soon for 4995. It is in pristine condition inside and out with the works. Anyway, I am concerned that it has 171,000 miles on it! Should I be? Do you think it's a good deal or not? The outside and inside are spotless. Pls let me know what you think. I haven't driven it or seen it in person yet; I'm going tomorrow to check it out. What kind of questions should I ask? BTW the engine is also spotless, looks like new!
Thanks for your help, please?!

You should take it for a test drive. Get a feel for the Transmission to see if it might slip. Check the Oil and the Trans fluid before you drive it. Check the tires for wear, Does it have after market radio in it? Does the remote entry work.
When you drive it check that it stays steady on the road, straight doesn't wander. $4995 is a little bit more than you should pay, check Kelly Blue book site for the cost.
Good Luck.

In my opinion, the price is too high for a car with that mileage. Take your time and look around, also if you can buy from a private seller you will usually get a better price. I bought an 05 SS last year with 92k miles, every option & aftermarket exhaust from the original owner for $4,750. I also got every receipt and service record since new. If you have time to look, and don't mind driving an hour or two, you can find a much better deal than that.
