Default 2003 Monte Carlo Pac Car Edition??

Hello there, I am currently in the process of getting a new car and I am seriously considering a 2003 Motne Carlo Pace car edition. Now I currently have an 04 WRX and the reason im getting a new car is because i drive alot of long distance every weekend, and the WRX is not a very good car for that. Now i want a car that is very comfortable on long drives, but I also wanna have power when i step on the gas. What do you think. oh, Also if i do this i will be doing an even swap, my car for the Monte, now my car on Kelly Blue Book is 17,500, does this sound like an ok deal. Let me know whatcha think.

Chad

Hello Chad, welcome to the forum....

A Jeff Gordon 03's blue book is around $14K in excellent condition. A regular ole SS runs around $13K again in excellent condition. I would seriously question that swap.

You may be better off selling your WRX, then get the Monte. You can do alot of mods with $3K....

Hi Chad,

1. You didn't state in your post the condition/miles on your WRX or the condition or miles on the Monte. + How they were driven and serviced.

To me they are two different animals. I have not met a Monte Carlo owner that didn't like the super-highway ride and MPG of their ride.. It sure doesn't handle like a WRX, but it wasn't built for Auto-X. The net has many positive reviews on the Monte. It pays to do your homework.

The 3.8 in the Monte is a proven Engine, but the SuperCharger requires Prem/Fuel & gets a few miles less per gal., but it's about a second faster 0 - 60 MPH & in the 1/4 mile.

Your Dollars $$$'s - Your Decision.

the dealer is never gonna give you an even swap unless your car is worth significantly more...if they're gonna give you an even trade i would take it..cuz even if you can get 17000 for it..dealers up here go by black book though which is less than blue book value...if they're gonna give you an even trade personally i would take it cuz that way you dont have to pay taxes or anything..its a tax free trade

if you sell your car then go buy the car then you have to pay taxes on top of whatever they're selling it for

Heck Yea! I've been a Monte enthusiast for some time and the first, and only Monte I've had so far, is the 2003 Monte Pace Car edition. Fun to drive, great on gas on long trips, and even good on the eyes. Not as much power as your wrx, but if your an enthusiast, you wont even notice.
