Default 2002 Limited Edition question

Thanks for adding me to the forum!

I have a question about a 2002 SS that I just purchased. With all the research I've done, I cannot find anything on the option on this car. I bought it from the second owner that bought it out of Florida with 22K on it. It has a pile of receipts from all the service done, it has high mileage but mainly all highway miles. Couple of bruise's here in there but overall very good condition. So to my question. It has an imprint logo on the headliner, front and center above the windshield that says NASCAR Monte Carlo, it has none of the normal Monte Carlo SS badges before the rear wheel or on the trunk lid. It has what appears to be 2006 and up type SS emblems and a different grill. It has the LE script on the instrument cluster. leather, power everything. I ran a build sheet report and it shows the options verifying it's a real SS. Has anyone ever seen one like this? do you think it was dealer modified car? I have the original wheels for it as well. he put the aftermarket wheels on. everything else seems completely factory. I'm at a loss? any help would be great.

Cool

Can you include a photo of the logo you described?
The SS emblems are available after market all over so it may be they are aftermarket.
You local GM dealer maybe able to run your vin# and it will give the details of the original location it was shipped to, and other details.
There maybe only 2 or 3 dealers that have done a Nascar package on these cars.
Best Guess would be once of the folks that owned the car may have modified it to their personal taste.
Good luck nice looking ride.

Question

What it could be is a Monte Carlo Pace Car.
Might not be an original but one that was special made for the Race Circuit and may have paced the field at one of the Race Tracks.

Imo that's a slp grill with a ss badge attached, the factory monte carlo and ss badging was removed and the other ss badges added to match the grill. This was all aftermarket and done by the previous owner.

I agree with Turbo Monte. After market grill, original badging swapped with different SS badges.
The Limited Edition on the speedo was placed there because it has the high sport ground fx package. After market wheels. and aftermarket exhaust tips.
As for the Nascar item on the headliner, I have no idea, I suspect someone else added that.

Not a bad looking car from the pics.

That's what I'm thinking too. I got a buddy that was a GM mechanic for over 30 years checking some stuff through GM. I'll keep you all posted if it turns up to be something special
