2001 SS High Idle Cold
When I start the car for first time everyday it increases rpms. I try to hold back throttle on throttle body but cant. I turn it off and restart it and its normal, can anyone help with this? Thank you

It may start and idle a few RPMs, but it should be quick, as in under 5 seconds. You may want to check out the IAC and ensure that is clean and working properly.
Does the car stall? Could be a plogged cat. Get inder the car after a longer drive and look for a glowing CAT. Also check for a plogged air filter (the paper filter or the metal one going into the intake manifold) I'd check filters before I'd chwck sensoes as they are more likely to cause this extreme of a reaction.

Not sure a clogged cat or plugged air filter would cause HIGH idle....
High idle is typically a result of too much air or a vacuum leak. The IAC helps control the idle, so that could be to blame, could also be a vac leak somewhere. Can easily check for a vac leak with a can of starting fluid (mist it around the vac lines, listen for the idle to change and if it does inspect that location further for the problem).

I would have your MAS checked. Mine did the same thing and I had to hold the gas peddle for about 1 minute to keep it running when the motor was warm. I put a new MAS in, problem solved!
