Hi All,
New guy here. My wife's mother gave us her 77 Monte Carlo she and my father in-law bought in '79. Nice car, the front bumper seems like its in the next zip code when ever I drive it.
It needs a bit of work here and there and first thing I would like to find is the factory service manuals or copies thereof. The Chilton's / Haynes Manuals tend to be a bit vague at times. I would like the GM Service manuals for the Eng./Trans, Electrical, & body if they are still out there at a reasonable cost.
When I can pry the digital camera away from the kids I will try and follow up with a few pics.
Thanks
Carlos G

Welcome to the Forum.
My Dad used to have a 1972 Monte Carlo so I know all about those early front ends that were miles long. Take the fan and shroud out, and you can comfortably stand in the engine compartment. Funny comparing to cars nowadays; stick your arm down in newer vehicles' engines and it comes out all cut up from all the wiring harnesses, sharp edges, etc.
Chilton and Haynes service manuals are crap. I've always gone with Helm service manuals; by far the best, most detailed and informative, and they supply GM with their shop manuals in the first place. You should still be able to find a period service manual for the car; I know my Dad had a period service manual for his 72.
