THE BIG STORYMark Martin led 195 of the 267 laps to win Saturday night's LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. It was his fourth victory of the season. Hendrick Chevrolet teammate Jeff Gordon was second, by .415 second. Kasey Kahne, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin completed the top five. Stewart tops Gordon by 175 points.
Also: Martin Truex Jr. will drive a No. 56 Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing next season. Waltrip said he'll drive between four and 12 Sprint Cup events… Danny Lasoski won the World of Outlaws feature Saturday night at Charter Raceway in Wisconsin.

NASCAR Sprint Cup SeriesBrian Vickers won the pole Friday at Chicagoland with a 184.162 mph lap. He finished seventh. Saturday night, Vickers led, then Jimmie Johnson, then Mark Martin went to the front on lap 42. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Paul Menard had contact on lap 227, triggering a wreck that involved Jeff Burton and Scott Speed. A debris yellow on lap 246 allowed Jeff Gordon to pit for tires. Johnson, who had taken the lead from Martin after Sam Hornish Jr.'s accident, seemed strongest near the end. But Denny Hamlin challenged him on a restart and that opened the track for Martin to get in front. Later, Johnson and Kurt Busch banged into each other a few times. The last restart came with two laps to go and Martin pulled away from Gordon, who was challenged by Kasey Kahne. Johnson finished eighth and Earnhardt was 15th. Martin averaged 133.804 mph with seven yellows for 30 laps. Jamie McMurray started 30th in the Sears Auto Center/Valvoline Ford and finished 22d. Kyle Busch finished 33d after an engine problem and dropped to 10th in points.

NASCAR Nationwide SeriesJoey Logano didn't pit for new tires on a late caution and the track position helped him win Friday night's Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland. A debris yellow on lap 185 brought Kyle Busch into the pits for two tires. On the lap 192 restart, however, Logano's Toyota was able to pull away from the teammate Camry. Logano won by 2.6 seconds for his third victory of the season. Brian Vickers was third behind Busch. The average speed was 147.340 mph with just two yellows for 11 laps. Busch is 192 points clear of Carl Edwards (sixth).

IndyCar SeriesDario Franchitti's third win of the season was a controversial one Sunday at Toronto. Franchitti started from the pole and led the opening 24 of 85 laps until he pitted. There was a problem changing a tire and he lost several positions. Later, he pitted just as a yellow waved, but officials ruled that Franchitti should be positioned second on the restart, behind Helio Castroneves and ahead of Paul Tracy. Franchitti quickly passed Castroneves on lap 65 and led the rest of the way. Castroneves and Tracy crashed each other out, causing Helio to be booed by the pro-Paul Canada fans. Franchitti finished 1.6 seconds clear of Ryan Briscoe, who recovered from an early stop to replace a flat tire. Will Power was third, despite going into the runoff area at the start, which forced him to the pits. Franchitti averaged 86.240 mph with five yellows for 15 laps. He is two points ahead of Scott Dixon (fourth).

Rubens Barrichello beat Webber off the line and Webber moved over and had contact with Barrichello, which brought a drive-through penalty. Yes, He REALLY Said ThatChris Economaki, on if the Indy or Daytona 500 is America's most important race. "The Daytona 500 is important because it is heavily promoted. The Indianapolis 500, unfortunately, is not heavily promoted. It's presented and managed well, but it isn't promoted well. That is the big difference. You have to beat the drums for your event and the Indianapolis 500 doesn't have a drum beater."
