New Points Idea (NOT OFFICIAL YET!!! DON'T TRY THIS YET!!)
Okay, so I had this idea... when we make picks, we always pick three separate drivers. Why? What if we opened it up so you could pick the same driver multiple times? It would add some strategy and risk. If you pick a winner, yo ucould get winning points 2-3 times over. If htat guy has an issue, you're up a creek without a paddle.
So instead of your picks looking like this
1) Kevin Harvick
2) Dale Jr.
3) Carl Edwards
You could think Harvick is really going to pull it off and go...
1) Kevin Harvick
2) Kevin Harvick
3) Carl Edwards
Or even
1) Kevin Harvick
2) Kevin Harvick
3) Kevin Harvick
Then if Harvick wins while scoring the most laps led, you get 48 points three times!!!
More risk, more reward.....
I think this would open up the strategies a bit when we get to tracks like Martinsville where Dennis Hamster, Jimmie Johnson, and Jeff Gordon have been traditionally strong threats. Instead of just picking those three, you could put more eggs in one basket and pick one of those guys twice and get his points twice.
So give me a vote... tell me what you think.

I voted good idea. Don't think it would be any more effort on your part.
Its all about the risk. I think it would work. If everyones for it, go for it. If not, I don't see any problem with the regular pick style. Kind of a neat idea

Someone could take down your record for a max points day under this rule, Jerry. 133 points won't be the max, 144 would be. ?But under the rules you ran under last year, htat was still a max, so it isn't a good apples to apples comparison.
I'm interested in seeing what everyone thinks. And regardless, I may permit this system for the Shootout next weekend and see how it works. We've got a non points paying race to just go out and win and see how we all do. It could make life a bit more interesting... and just adds another strategy curve to the Fantasy league.
And as far as my effort, there would actually be less. With 3 separate picks, I have to track down 3 drivers points totals. If I have one guy twice or one guy three times, it makes it less work.

Sorry I missed this thread!
I think its a terrible idea! It could and likely would award maximum points for lazier picking. I think all pools should award for best average picking rather then a single lucky pick. 3 picks is pretty much needed to seperate us in points anyways. If this was allowed in scoring I'd have to pick the same person - whoever I thought was going to win - because that is the only way to ensure maximum scoring. And I am going to try to win races. But I don't wanna play like that

It's high risk/high reward potential. If you pick the same driver three times, that driver could crash and your @$$ goes in the tank. How often does the driver you think will win actually win anyway?
