Default RE: Wire Question

The remote starter works fine from about 40 feet away.. I've only tried it at that distance.. So I don't know if that is what it is or if it is some other wire.. They wouldn't have needed to cut this wire for any reason at all because it didn't need replaced.. I just needed the plastic on the a-pillar replaced.

Default RE: Wire Question

I found out what the wire is for.. It is originally for OnStar.. When they were using an older system, this wire was used as an antenna.. Well, now that the line goes through the little black box that sits on top of my car, this antenna isn't needed anymore.. So what they are supposed to do is cut the wire & push it back into the pillar & put a cap on the spot where it connects to the wire on the windshield.. They didn't have any caps, so they left the wire connected there and pushed in the tail so that it looked like it was connected.. The Service Supervisor apologized for any confusion and kept on apologizing that the tech didn't inform him that the service was done.. Guess its in a TSB or something that came from OnStar itself.
