wipers out of sync

I noticed on my 2002 Monte that the wipers stop mid windshield when on the delayed setting. They work fine on high or low. Is this a bad wiper motor or some other problem? Any help appreciated.

On top of Dino's post I would take a look at the wiper motor pulse board module.

I had this issue with one of my other GM vehicles and this module was the fix.
