Question Window controller short?

Hey all, I have a 1997 Monte LS with about 170,XXX on the chassis and 85,XXX on the engine. Over the years of owning it and driving it everyday (regardless of weather) I have ran into some problems I would like some advice on. The biggest problem I have is the passenger window from the drivers window control. Ever since I have gotten it (3+ years ago) the passenger side window has decided to go down on certain occasions. Trying to put down the window from the drivers side only works about 5% of the time now, compared to almost never when I first got it. It has started to happen more and more frequently over the last couple years and now every time I want to roll down my passenger window, I have to lean over to the passenger side and roll it down with that button. It WILL go up with the drivers side controller, just not down. The passenger side controller works perfectly like it should. Over the years of experiencing this problem, I have noticed that it seems to not work when it is above normal humidity or when it is below 50 degrees or so. One of the biggest symptoms I notice every time I try to put it down, is everything in the car dims. When running the car, it dims all of it lights and even lower the the rpms of the engine for the time that I press down the button. I am not sure if that the window is also severely off track would be part of the problem, but it would still go up without a hitch if I pushed the window towards the back of the car. Within the last 5 months I have replaced the drivers side window control unit due to a short within its motherboard. The problem still happened even with the old controller unit.

I hate to have people avoid this topic because there is so much text, but I would rather there be too much information that not enough. Any input on diagnosing the problem is greatly appreciated.
