What else can I do???
Ok I am going to do some work on my car, to try and increase performance/fuel economy. I am going to start with the fuel filter. I dont NEED to change the fuel filter, but I have a feeling that it has ever been changed. I bought it used with about 80K miles on it, and when I first for it a year ago, the first thing I changed was the air filter. When I took the one in the car out, the thing was completely black, I think it may have been the origional! I was really bad, I dont know how air even got through the thing. At that time I was getting like 15MPG, so I changed it,and then the MPGsshot up. Now, that I am home for the summer for school, and making some money, I decided to change it. Its only $14.99 from Auto Zone here, so I might as well. I now have 92K on the car, so I am going to do the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, PCV valve, and a check out the air filter and probabally buy a new one. And I will probabally havethe tiresbalanced and rotated before I go back to school, its a 350 mile drive each way, and when I get up to speed, I can feel a vibration in the steering wheel, so I think I need to wheels balanced, it feels just like it did in my olds when the tires were unbalanced. Anything else you guys think I should do that could improve preformance/fuel economy? Thanks for the info guys.....
Remove the U-Bend, change the air filter to K&N, fill tires with nitrogen vs regular air.
Other than that, most mods will deter the gas mileage. Stay with stock wires and plugs.

pretty much what 04 said is good, i dont know about the nitrogen in the tires, how much that actually does, i've heard some bad things about that from tire places.
if your looking into changing plugs and wires, and having 80,000 miles on your car its time now almost i would put ngk 3403 (tr55gp) plugs in it, and some sort of lifetime warranty wires on it, that will help things out too

If the monte carlo's are compatable, we used to seafoam the engine once in a blue, just to blast all the carbon out of it. A clean machine is an efficient one. Also driving habits will change your mpg dramatically.
