water in trunk
well now that the weather has nicend up I did some looking... It turns out it is coming in from a loose weld on the trunk... hard to explain where, but Ill get pics up today. AND it turns out there are a couple inches of standing water hidden away in the trunk.. Ill post pics of those too.. Im going to drill a little hole to drain it. You guys might want to check urs out too.
Ive had the same problem with my 02 MC SS. Water was leaking in from a faulty seam behind and just below the passenger side taillight. Its hard to see the seam. Water was standing inside the well pocked behind the tire in the quarter panel. I re-caulked the seam and the leak went away.
Sorry for not updating on this but here is some news. I got to looking and couldn't find where the water was coming in, but I found where it was staying.
Here are some pictures that I hope will help explain.
Under both sides of the trunk there are these trough things that in mine are collecting water... I just pulled out the plugs that are on the side that points out of the car.. a little tricky to get to.
Pull Back the carpet and there was a GOOD amount of water in there.. I'm Hoping that it will be taken care of now.
Maybe you guys should check to see if you have the same problem. I don't think the previous owner EVER looked there. It was nasty!
