Default 2006 Monte, water in trunk/spare tire area...

Has anyone here had a leak in their trunk? I do, not sure why, maybe from sitting to long in my driveway? I haven't been driving my car that much lately and it sits in the driveway on a slight upward angle and tonight I noticed some dampness on the carpet. I took out the spare tire cover and noticed about half of the spare tire space filled with water I have in the past noticed dampness on the trunk carpet but not that bad until now. I'm just wondering if anyone had the same issues. It must not be that big of a problem because there are two drain plugs back there! Here are a couple/few pics.......

and the trusty old butterknife to open the plugs...............

No idea, most likely the trunk seal is leaking water or maybe there is water leaking from under the spoiler into the trunk?

Get a helper to lock you in the trunk with a good light. Have the helper run the garden hose over the back of the car. Don't dismiss the seal around the back window and quarter windows. Also check to see if you have moisture under the back seat.

Wow Chris, that sucks.

I hope you get this figured out and isn't a costly repair.
Best wishes bud.

That totally sucks Chris - I have never really heard of a newer car getting water in the trunk - very common with the classic A body cars.

Rick you make me laugh. I forgot to mention to check the tail light seals.
