So im in the process of getting a 82 MC, Im excited until i get news from the guy im buying it from that it needs to be inspected because the owner before him (a 19 year old kid) pissed off the cops.. needs brake overhaul! So yeah kinda disappointing. gunna have to spen some money to make it road worthy!

Nice looking old Monte. And if it's only the brakes that need a redo to make it roadworthy, that's really not too bad. You don't need to break the bank to get decent brakes put on.

 

Looks good! I would love to have an older Monte to tool around on.

 

its not the brakes im worried about, its the inspection... According to the guy im buyin it from it; it was owned by a 19 year old kid who got in troubleby the cops. Could be that it has no mufflers or mayby that the cop noticed that the tires were past bald..I guess mufflers are inexpensive..The only problem with putting mufflers on anyway is that I plan on putting in a new motor very soon , so when I do that the exhaust is changing to dual. Now it is headers to single to dual pipes out the back.. Anyway im sill excited about getting it!!
