6th Gen ('00-'05): Transmission slips in first gear on passanger side only
Transmision in my 00 monte carlo seems like slipping on passanger side only. Not sure maybe axle slipping? anyone else have or had this issue?
Curious how you can tell its slipping on the passenger side only? Does the car physically pull off to one side when it happens?
Certainly its possible to break an axle, but they're pretty beefy so it would be an alarming event (or you'd have clicking/ lots of noise as its going out over time).
Reason I ask is that a slipping transmission is a fairly common failure on the 4t65, but a single side failure is fairly unusual - especially on a stock street car.

its like it slips and when it catches you can feel it from that side only. Its weird . Never felt anything like it. No noise at all drives perfect(finally). Just cant get this one? Suggestions? Also, only happens when your in tghe gas.
If you're 100% certain its only one side, then this will be easy to diagnose as there are only a few parts that are specific to one side - the differential, axle, and hub. Everything before that in the transmission is common to both sides.
I'd just pull the axle as its the most likely candidate for failure. From there, you can easily inspect the hub. If both of those are OK, youre only a few more bolts away from getting to the diff (as its on that end of the transmission behind that small cover).
