Default Transmission Gasket leak?

Hello my car currently has 95k miles on it and I replaced the transmission filter, and seal and it still leaks around the screws. I didn't see anything unusual while taking it apart and reassembling it. What are some gaskets I can use to stop the small leak (rubber, cork, steel reinforced)?

I'm assuming when you say seal you mean the pan gasket? The seal is what you slide the trans filter into.

My last couple of changes on cars in my fleet, I got the "re-usable", re-enforced gasket by ATP from RockAuto. Fits like OEM. Very, very happy.

With the freebie gaskets you get with most filters, it's easy to have them shift around during re-install and if you over tighten, they will creep out around the bolts.

maybe you torqued the bolts a little to hard and cut the gasket

I would bet your going to have to pull the pan and install a new NAPA grade pan gasket. keep everything clean and don't over tighten them and I bet you will be good to go.

I thought that, but it doesn't seem to be the problem I didn't over do it and did a X-Pattern. I just think the crappy gasket that came with the filter is junk. I hate that I have to do this whole thing over again...

I put my OE transmission pan gasket in the parts washer, cleaned it, rinsed it with water then blew it off with air to dry it.

Then tightened them down 80 in/lbs then again to 140 or something. Hasen't leaked since.
