Default Transmission

Ok here is my other problem. I have a 2000 ss and when im driving everything seems to shift properly, but after about 30-60minutes of driving itll start to shift hard into 2nd gear, then once im in 3rd or 4th itll start jumping in and out of gear. Ive done some research and im assuming its the pressure control solenoid in my transmission. Im hoping this is the problem, if not ill have to cough up a butt load of money and get a new transmission. I ordered a solenoid kit for the car and what I was wondering, has anybody else had this problem? How long did the fix last for?

I had the same problem. Then after a while my CEL came on. Gave me a P0741 code for the TCC. I got the kit and it was installed last weekend. It did not change. But for me I think it is a wiring or fuse issue..Although the TCC was bad. You need a GM Tech II scanner to read the Trans! I would have it read before installing the new parts. Just to be sure!

I agree with jc. Especially because it's not fun at all to change the solenoids.

Thanks for Reminding me John (Turbo Monte). Time get to the Solenoids Everything in front of the cover has to be moved out of the way. So, Tire, Brake Assembly, Suspension, and Steering Knuckle have to be moved. Your Sway Bar End Link has to be Disconnected, then you have to Lower the Engine Cradle and the engine in order to get to the top bolts. I bereave It's about 6 hours of work from start to finish If you have the Right Tools, and a Lift and a Transmission Stand.
I'm not trying to discourage you, just letting you know what a DIYer is in for. There are a couple of YouTube vids on it. Check them out under 4t65e solenoids replacement!
