traction control/grinding in transaxle?

Default traction control/grinding in transaxle?

hey, i have an 05 monte ss, s-charged and gotta problem with my steering or transaxle, when i back out of a parking spot and turn the wheel and put it in drive and turn the wheel the other way i hear a grinding noise and my traction control comes on? any help would be great! steering? transaxle? cv joint? thanks!

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing, which is the hub assembly. It has the wheel speed sensor built into it.
Jack the car up or put it on a hoist and check to see if the tires can wobble any in and out. Grab hold of the top and bottom of the tires to do this. Next spin them slowly and it should be smooth. If not, you have a bad hub assembly.

Crazy, my 02 SS is doing that. Guess its time for a new hub assembly.
