Default Traction Control?

On my 06 monte the service light is on for the traction control, How do you service this your self or what does a mechanic do to correct this issue?

If you are under warranty take it to the dealer so they can scan it. I would say take it to AutoZone, but they do not scan for anything but Engine check lights. I am sorry I can not be any more help.

are they the same as the previous generation, all in the hubs?

or maybe you just have a sensor that went bad, causing the trip up

nope its not under powertrain warranty, well mine wasnt. To fix mine it was the traction control module or some **** like that, thats what the shop told me. They fixed that then told me that there was some kinda valve on the abs that was out that tripped it to.

you don't need traction control... this is a FWD, if you can't pull the car out of a slide with the throttle and the steering wheel, the traction control won't save it either.

hopefully i don't crash after saying you don't need it now!!

it's probably just a sensor somewhere. i'd think if it was the piece in the hubs or wherever (i don't have a clue how the mechanics of traction control work), i'd think it wouldn't throw a sensor on the computer.

My 07 had to have the wheel bearing replaced to resolve the same issue. I currently have 67500KMS on mine (yes im form Canada lol)

So far I had to replace:
Wheel Bearing
Steering shaft
Ball Joint
Rear and front link kits(drivers side)
couple tire presure sensors

So your issue is a bearing and will have to be diag'd by a GM tech or a repair shop that can scan the CANbuss sys in your car.
