Tires low on air? Do you have any brake drag going on, does the wheel spin freely while jacked up (car up and in neutral to spin the fronts) Does your exhaust sound different (could be a blockage in the exhaust) Old fuel filter, last time it was changed? Dirty injectors? (I like sea foam cleaner at the Schrader valve on fuel rail) Wheel tread wear okay on all tires?

I'm sure there is more but how is your MPG? Around town or open road?

Thumbs up

I currently own a 99 Z34.....which i ordered and purchased bran spankn new! Its not easy to say with so little info from you....but the 3800 in mine thrives on regular oil changes. (seems to perform its best after i change it) could be due to clogged injectors...I run premium fuel in mine to assure good performance and cleanlyness. Try useing a higher grade fuel? I use the new E60 plugs in mine and picked up mileage and performance....mine has 165,000 miles and still runs great!..every 3 months 3 ooo miles i change the oil...and i change the air filter every 6 months whether it needs it or not...I have the tires rotated balanced and filled regularly..which is critical to good fuel mileage. (gas is to expensive nowadays)...Would like some more info to try to help you out....as like doozer...have u tried any of these things as of yet? Let us know! Good Luck....

Theres the normal things like, new air filter, fuel filter using better gas but how bad of gas mileage are you getting? Maybe needs a tune up?

16 city is a little low, but what about on the highway. My Monte the way it sits gets 17 city and 27 highway. Not too bad for the power it's making.

You dont have to tell me about winter......Im in Michigan and they can be tough.....But I would still like a little more info.....But i think ur getting a lot of good info from the others.....I have been getting close to 18 city and as much as 29 highway....depending on wind and weather conditions on cruise control...(the mrs and I travel a lot) in the winter when were not able to go camping...Which we do with a 28ft 5th wheel travel trailer...(In the summers)

I guess a lot of it also depends on how many owners had it before you...how well maintained it was or wasnt ....mileage etc....lead footed..Maybe do an overall compression check....does it use any oil?

Plug gap makes a difference too...Hard to say...maybe ck fuel pressure?

Does it run hot? The cooler it runs also adds to gaining fuel mileage..
