Suspension ...
Hi folks,
Looking to draw on the wisdom of those who have done this before me. My 2006 Monte Carlo with the 3.5 liter engine needs some suspension upgrades. Body roll is crazy in this car especially at higher speeds. So I'm looking to upgrade the suspension. Imagine money has nothing to do with it. I'm wanting to replace the struts, springs and sway bars. Obviously, strut/spring assemblies are easiest to install but performance is the real goal here and not convenience. I was thinking at the minimum, the sway bar off of an SS car with the ls4 engine would be a good place to start, but I don't know. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh and one more thing. This car has the 16 inch wheels and I wouldn't mind switching to a 17 inch wheel but really id like to just fit a wider tire, even if I stick with the 16. So if anyone has already figured out backspacing and offset ect, on a wheel that would meet this goal, then that info would be greatly appreciated. Actually, if anyone know for certain if a 235/60/16 tire will fit that all by itself would be helpful.

This what we put on our 2005 Monte Carlo LT and (2) 2005 Impala LS vehicles:
12498642 - Heavy Duty Rear Stabilizer Bar Kit:
The kit includes stabilizer bar P/N 10274610 and bushings P/N 10415925.
12498643 - Heavy Duty Front Stabilizer Bar Kit:
This 34mm bar enhances cornering by reducing body roll. The kit includes stabilizer bar P/N 10404184,
bushings P/N 10403188, and end links P/N 10403402.
12498648 - Strut Braces:
These are production Buick strut tower braces designed to minimize body flex. The kit includes two strut tower braces, hardware, and installation instructions. The part number for one strut tower brace only is 12456148.
12498649 - High Performance Tubular Rear Trailing Arm Kit
This kit increases rear suspension performance by eliminating rear suspension flex. It includes two rear trailing arms.
Parts are still available on line from GM. Makers all the difference in handling. Just acquired a 2005 Impala LS with the Sport Appearance Package and will be upgrading the suspension with these parts.
Hope this helps!
