well it has came time to change intake gaskets on my 02 ls. i have already got the parts intake gasketFEL-PRO part #MS 90565 along with alot of other parts.I havee alot of faith in my wrenching skills,but I am not sure of the fuel lines (they look like they need a special tool)any help or tips on quickness of this projectwould be great.also I have bought head gaskets also would it be benifical to change them while I am down this far already?thanks in advance.

yah...thats what usually happens...a lot of people change the head gaskets while they're down there alraedy...but take your gasket set back that you have and get the fel pro kit # ms98003t, its the improved set with the metal inserts in it....putting that set in that you bought will just do the same thing again in about 20-40k ...that is assuming your ls is a 3.4...

but yes...definetely get the ms98003t gasket set...

thanks,that was what i was thinking. i figured if i'm down this far i might as well take out the other weak link. I called about the other gasket set,turns out it is even 2 dollars cheaper than the kit i bought. also can anyone tell me if i need a special fuel line disconnect tool, as i can pick it up while i get the other gasket set.
