Default In need of suggestions

Hi all. I'll be the first to admit I'm not a car expert. In fact, compared to most of you I'm probably a newb. With that being said, I would like your opinions on what I could do to my car to make it faster/add some horsepower. Please keep in mind that I am a very, very broke college student, so money is a concern. Thanks.

My car is an '01 LS. It's completely stock except for the black spoiler my dad had installed when he bought it.

the easiest and cheapest mod is to take your car to an exhaust shop...get a universal high flow cat, have them get rid of the u-bend(they will know what this is), and get rid of the resonator for a piece of straight pipe...this will gain you about 10 hp and nice feel when you hit the gas and little bit of a nice sound

after that you could do a cold air intake (this gets pricey...300 bucks or so for the k&n one) or you could make your own if you good with that stuff...z34phoenix has a good plan for it and i think 2000blackss did it...

take a look around

I have a picture of my intake on my cardomain just click the link and you can see it. the first shot of my engine bay is just an intake i got off ebay when i first got the car it was 40 bucks i think, then the second page is another intake setup that was 20 bucks for the tubing i used.

But like wiz kid said i would do the u-bend and high flow cat first i think that would be the best horse power to money spent ratio for you.

I would start by running around cardomain.com and look for Monte ideas there. Then see what you can afford.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've asked this general question on a few other forums and have gotten a lot less. Just shows the quality of MCF I guess. [sm=thanx.gif]
