I have a 1985 SS. The starter is completely disconnected, but I am having a heck of a time trying to get it out. I tilted it vertically as the manual says, but it still doesn't want to seem to clear the exhaust pipe.

Any suggestions?

Block of wood jack on oil pan even as far as removing mount bolt
