Default Starter 2007 monte carlo ss 5.3 L

I have removed the 2 bolts from my starter, but the starter seems to be welded, glued whatever, to the engine, how do you remove a stuck starter.

Found the below in my file search and I don't know `if it will help or not, but it may be worth a read > Good Luck & Don't 4-get to check back on your thread.

s there a trick to remove the starter in a 5.3l. I replaced the transmission and the starter was very hard to take out and now i cant get it back in. Any suggestions?

the only way to make it any easier to make sure that the transmission cover plate is loose before removing/installing the starter. It has a tendancy to get hung up on it. ALso make sure that the starter does not seem warped in any way.

Thanks for that, But I did manage to get the starter out, and it turns out that it was good. My next step is to find out where the neutral safety switch is located, can anybody help me there?

A lot of the time a starter will test good on the bench, but once put under load will not turn the engine over. If at all possible it's best to test it on the engine using a remote starter switch.

IIRC there is a switch under the console that (because of bad routing) the wiring becomes frayed/broken and prevents the vehicle from starting.
