Question Solenoid Replacement?

Hey guys I searched everywhere in my past threads for a site someone left me about Solenoid replacement.

I keep getting a "Tighten Gas Cap" message on my 06 Monte SS.

What I was told before on the forum was it's as simple as replacing the solenoid... cost around $35.

Someone had posted a link a while back I think with a part link and How-to but for the life of me cannot find the thread.

If anyone could help or have any other fix suggestions that would be great!

There's a bunch of evap codes. Many can be as simple a a loose gas cap, but if that's not it, GM normally directs you to perform a smoke test.

Apparently a purge cylinder is common for the P0455 code on some of these cars. Here's a write up from another forum on the subject:
HOW TO:Replacing Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid Valve (PO455 error)

Keep in mind, without doing a smoke test, you are throwing parts at the problem.
