shudder on 1-2 shift?
Alright I have been feeling a shudder when the tranny shifts from 1-2, only under light to moderate acceleration. When I get on the gas the tranny shudder seems to go away. Every other shift; 2-3 3-4 are smooth and there is no shudder at all. What gives, is this how our trannys were designed?

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Vehicle may exhibit a 1-2 shift shudder at approximately 12-20% throttle angle or less. Some customers may perceive or describe this as a slip into second or a delayed shift.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Currently, this concern is under investigation by Engineering. Preliminary results indicate that repairing the second clutch and related components does resolve the condition in 90% of the cases. This will include the second clutch housing, piston, seals and clutches. In addition the driven sprocket support peak ring seals should be replaced item #613 in the parts schematic. A Dealer Technical Bulletin will be released in the near future.
The labor operation number to use is K7531.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". RE: shudder on 1-2 shift?
Mine has been doing this on occasion as well. It does not seem to happen all the time but I do notice it more under load.
I wonder if this will have a negative effect on its longevity. If it’s in the clutch pack as it looks by the great information supplied by NYCRISS I would think that the sift kit would be a long shot, but worth a try.
I will play around with my Hypertech over the next couple of weeks adjusting the line pressure to see if it helps any.
