Default Rear defroster

Hello everyone!

First off, I"m fairly sure that this is the section of the forum where this question belongs. If not, please don't crucify me for it. Haha.

Anyway, It's winter in Iowa, not a bad one, but it's still winter. KIt snows and I get alot of ice on my windows. What would make it easier to get it off? THE DEFROSTER! I have a problem, though. the attachment to the rear window that completes the circuit on the rear defroster has come off. I was wondering how I could fix this. I have attached an image to help show what I'm talking about.

Thanks!
Tyler

There are many threads about defroster problems. Luckily for you, yours is obvious (I am still hunting mine down, hence why I opened another thread looking for ALL defroster info I can get, so when I take the car out of storage in the spring, I can hopefully fix that problem once and for all).

Anycase, I have not done this personally, but my father has. You can re-soldier that tab to the glass. BUT, the key element is, don't soldier on glass while the glass is cold (unless you like a glass shower).

Here's a link that discusses the topic:

Auto-Parts stores also sell kits that can reattach that for you.

It's about $10 and takes maybe 20 minutes.

Thanks a bunch! I think I'll just look into the kit because I've tryed to solder before, and it didn't turn out very well.

The kit is only $14.99 at Autozone!! I think I'm going to go pick it up today because we are supposed to be having a pretty white Christmas here in Iowa.
