radio problem

Default radio problem

hello all, 1st post here.

i have an 01 monte carlo ls. there is power to the radio i can change stations but there is no sound. when i open the car doors there is no chimes either.idk what the problem is. my amp?

i actually have a similar issue, but mine comes and goes. i havent figured out if its the factory amp over heating or a loose wire. im still under warranty though.

the amp only controlls the rear speakers though doesnt it?

the amp controls them all. The actual radio outputs are very low voltage so all channels get amplified by the rear stock amp.

P.S> I have a factory amp from a 2000 monte i have been too meaning to list for sale if you need a new one.

Dang, not sure what the problem is. I'd disconnect and clean the plugs on the amp and back of the deck with electrical cleaner then plug back in and see if that makes any difference.

Yeahm sounds like a loose wire to me??

id check to see if you are getting a voltage or a signal into the factory amp. if you are, then check if the signal is comming out of it. it could also be your radio

Default 2004 monte carlo no sound

i have the same issue with my sterio i have replaced the amp replaced the radio checked all fuses and speakers checked wires to no avail
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED !!!

ive had my radio replaced 2 times. problem goes away and comes back every couple of years.
