So just spray it and then let it completely air dry? Don't wipe it with anything at all?

If your getting a very intermittent buck or jerk change the plugs and wires before anything else. And use acdelco iridium plugs and wires. The plugs are recommended for changing at 160,000 km's or 100,000 miles your car is in that area so do that anyway it's due. I don't agree with the cat just yet, it would feel sluggish if the cat was plugged.
When it comes to tune-up and filters acdelco and k&n are the only brands I'll use any gm I've owned. It's good stuff period.

The car is acting a little more out of sorts today... today is the first time it has felt sluggish. This makes me think even more that it could be the Cat.
Thanks for the info about the plugs and wires! I actually plan to tackle this weekend if I can find the time.
Regardless, I've decided to bite the bullet and taking it for a diagnosis tomorrow morning. I was told by someone at the dealership that some of the Monte's have a Cat warranty of either 80,000 100,000 or 120,000 depending. He didn't elaborate and I didn't ask... Either way, I will post the results after I get done there.

You can always ask erik@moradpartscompany.com if he has any for you.
They aren't cheap sensors brand new, but if you want to take the 70$ used chance like I did, it's not a bad deal.

I went ahead and bought a new one. Installed yesterday evening and car is running fine now. Thanks fall of your help!
It is truely amazing what having that one sensor go bad can really do to these cars. By the time I jumped through the hoops to figure out what was wrong with it, the car hardly wanted to even run. It was difficult to start, idled very rough, and didn't want to accelerate. I finally just unplugged the sensor to finish the drive home so I could put the new one on. The car did run fine with it unplugged, it just really hurt the mpg's while it was unhooked.
Hope this all helps someone else out in the future!

That's what happened to me, my car was stalling out on me when mine was broken. It was probably funny to people around me when I was at a stop light and my car would just shut off..thankfully it would restart, but only to do it again. i cleaned mine, but it didn't work at all. I'm pretty sure once it starts to break it's junk.
Glad you figured it out!!
