Default Problems with Monte

I have 2000 Monte Carlo SS with the 3.8 Series 2. So far it's only happend 3 or so times now and it just started doing it this week. To my knowledge it was at the shifting points when it would shift up then shift down but then shift up finally, it would do it at 30 or so and about 60. Then ocassionally during idle it would be at about 1,000 rpm then it would drop to under that and then shoot up to 2,500 rpm and then back to regular. I added tranny fluid because it was a bit low, the intake problem has already been taken care of. I don't know whats wrong with it. I thought maybe it was the MAF sensor since it would do the weird shifting when I was moving so yeah. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patrick.

It could be the catalytic converter starting to clog up on you.

But a good read on transmissions:

Figured it out, I finally got a Check Engine light and sure enough it was the MAF sensor. Bought one from a local guy for 12 bucks. Shes running like a top again, but I'm still going to replace plugs and wires, and tranny fluid is still good but I also plan on changing it within the next few weeks. Thanks for the help.

Well, that answers the question I had at the end of the other thread.
