power steering recall
I just took mine in and my dealership was super nice and took care of it. They knew all about the recall and they are a small dealer in rockford, michigan.
I can not believe that a dealer would turn away work. They get paid by gm for all warranty work and recall work performed. It boggles my mind that they would pretty much say "yeah, we don't want to make any money!" simply amazing to me.

I KNOW THEY GET PAID FOR THE work i just dont know if they get paid there full price for the work.
i used to go to an awsome dealer and they got shut down by GM. know my options are limited and seem like they dont want to fix anything, and nothing is covered over the phone. maybe i should go banging on some doors.

I did receive a letter for mine. Took it in already. The dealer said it would take 4 hours for the SS. The 6 cylinder cars take alot less time to do. I guess it's the price you pay for more motor. They had to drop the cradle from under the car to complete the work. I was not to happy about this since that affects the alignment of the car, and I had just paid to have that done at a very reputable alignment shop (not a dealer). The work was performed, and I am happy with everything but the alignment they did. The car now doesn't return on center like it use to. Instead of letting them have another crack at it, I am taking back to the place that did it last time. What's another $90. Another reason why I hate taking cars back to the dealership.
For those who had work done on their car already pertaining to this, there was a reimbursement form with the recall notice that you have to send to GM.

So I dropped the Monte off this morning at the Chevy dealer for the recall #09132. (Steering Hose Replacement) and picked it up this afternoon. It took 1.7 hours to do. With it being the V-8 they did have to drop the engine a bit to get at the line which made me a little nervous.
But no problems so far when I drove home.... WHEW!!!
I asked the service manager if they had a lot people respond to this recall. They had the parts already in stock. They said mostly for the V-6 engine that they noticed the problem on. I guess every service center is different.

Ive got the 06SS I paid for this hose to be replaced but I also have a extended warratny plan so I only paid the deductible to get it fixed, would i be able to get my money back if my vehicle was listed in the recall, never got a letter
The dealer should be able to identify if your car is part of the recall by the VIN. I would contact them and ask. If it is, there was a form to submit if you incurred costs replacing it. Again, ask the dealer if they can provide you a copy, or at least where to get it from. You send a copy of the invoice and the form to GM and they are to reimburse you. Can't imagine your car wouldn't be part if the recall if the hose already failed.
To note: I finally got my letter. It was like a slap in the face.
