Default power steering recall

How many 06 monte owners have received a letter from GM for a P.S recall. Here is what the letter said. We have learned that your 2006 monte may have a condition in which the power steering cooler line may leak or split. If this were to occur, you would likely notice fluid spotting under the vehicle when the vehicle is parked and a decrease in power steering assist. If enough fluid were lost, damage to the pump could occur. Your chevrolet dealer will replace the power steering cooler line at no cost. If you have any questions call customer assistance center at 1-800-630-2438.

I got one! you have until February 28, 2011, the dealer will replace it at no charge. I haven't had mine replaced yet, the weather sucks and I need to schedule it, but I plan on getting it done soon. I took my car to a local shop, the guy there said just make sure there is fluid in it and check it and I should have no problems with it.

yea they should have that recall for the 07's too. i wass changing my oil the other day and looed at all my fluids, everything looked fine except for the power steering fluid. which was down three notches. i asked the guy at autozone and he said its a sealed system and nothing should be gone. there is a leak on one of the lines and it looks thick and clear. lol thanks for not helpin me out here GM. not to mention the other leak of anifreeze due to a faulty waterpump. i wish i would have been ignoarnt and not even checked.

mak330, i would call that toll free number 1-800-630-2438 & talk to a GM rep about the same problem that we are having, I'am sure GM use the same parts on the 07 too, it can't hurt to give them a call.

Anyone know if I can go and get a refund if it's now a recall? Mine blew last year and I had to pay to get it fixed.
