I hear that enzo, when I got my car I asked my mechanic about it, he said he put 4 different pumps on his car before he finally got a quiet one. Thankfully mine settled down since I got the car, not sure what he did.

Is this a common problem with Monte Carlo's? Mine is an 06' and only has 58K miles on it and my Power steering pump whines when I turn all the way to the right. Fluid is all topped up on it. I have been wondering if it was a problem with my pump but now from reading this, it sounds like it's not.

I just got mine. I wonder if the original owner ever had that taken care of. There isn't anyway to tell is there? Not that it matters now, cuz the dealer wouldn't take care of it. But it would give me an idea if I need to replace mine or not. My car drives fine. Just one of those things that bugs me. I hate when my car makes noises. No matter what it is haha

A Dealer should be able to look up the VIN and tell you if it was ever in the re-call program
