possibe battery draw

Default possibe battery draw

I charged the batt a few days ago and battery acid meter shows real good,i went to start the car today and battery showed low voltage on my radar detector...how much is to much? the computer must take a little bit?

What type of Battery do you have ? How old ? Have you make sure your cables are tight ? What range is you amp gauge indicating ?

Its an interstate batt, maybe 2 yrs old .. Will do a load test on it, i grew up in a car dealership.. All fords.. Lol i own all chevys

How old is the battery?
Generally they have a 3 to 5 yr life span...
It could have what they call a dead charge,
Acid may read fine but the plates inside is what wear out..

I would also have your alternator checked.. It may also have a diode that may be worn/wearing out..

You could get the battery load tested... But I don't trust the new "computerized" load tester..
I prefer the old style ones for a true reading.
I had one tested at Advance auto that said it was good.. However, My friend still has an old school one that said it was definitely dead with a dead charge on it!

So, It could be both the battery and the alternator is worn/wearing out.

Ok it charges at 14.5 volts and I have like 4 load testers and it shows weak,right on the edge of good on the tester,dead charge could be....

Charged it enough i guess... Buy new battery? .. Sure do miss the 39 dollar batterys...
