passenger power door lock

passenger power door lock
Just recently the power door lock on the passenger side has quit working. The button works....It locks the drivers side and i hear the "swoosh" sound when I press it. The anti theft part is still working because if I forget I hit the switch when I get out and then go and open the passenger side door the alarm goes off. I can lock the passsenger side by key and by manually pushing the lock itself. What part do I need to replace? Any and all help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

It could also be corroted inside the door mechanizm from the solenoid...
I would recommend removeing the inner door panel and investgate to see just whats going on...

Since it won't lock with either the arm rest switch or the remote I would suspect the ground wiring for the 'lock' portion of the passenger door solenoid circuit, or the solenoid itself. As STUMPMI suggested I would remove the door panel and inspect the wiring at the solenoid and any connectors leading to it.
Edit: Does the door lock when you take the car out of park and put it in gear?

Aussie works for a GM outlet. I'm sure he sees a lot more GM vehicles with this problem then I have, so I place confidence in what he says. If he thinks it is the solenoid/actuator then that's where I would focus my attention. Just for grins though you can test the circuit prior to doing the solenoid R&R. Who knows...you might get lucky and find a loose/dirty/corroded contact that is creating an open in the circuit. Connect a 12v test light to the terminals of the solenoid and activate the 'lock' position of arm rest switch. If the test light illuminates the circuit is complete and the solenoid needs replacing. If the test light doesn't illuminate you'll need to find the open in the ground circuit.
