Default Help repairing power door lock on 97

My power door lock on the driver side doesnt work. I push the button and I hear the mechanism moving but it wont lock the door. I have to manuallylock and unlockthe door. The passenger side works fine. I took the door panel off and tried fixing it but I think the actuater is back by the door latch and i dont thiink I can get to it. It is covered by the metal door frame andit looks like the 2 peices are welded together. What should I do? This sucks because I got keyless on my new carm alarm and I cant use it...

There is a little rubber tip that goes on the lock actuator which connects it to the lock mechanism. Dealer should have them, maybe a couple bucks. Most common probem with the door locks on that body style. It takes longer to remove the door panel than it does to replace the rubber tip.

Yeah I know itis the actuator but I dont now how I can get to it. It is back by the door latch right? I think my door is a 1 piece frame and I cant remove the frame where the latch is at. I cant even see the actuator/latch when I take the panel off.
