Bad cat will definitely effect mileage if it's clogged, hope you bought an OEM one from Rock. I've heard aftermarket ones can be a problem, although I see a lot of members have this as a performance upgrade, but I get the impression from your previous posts you want to keep your Intimidator stock. I have no experience with high performance aftermarket stuff. Just going off what I've learned here.

Hi Bossross. Personally, I would replace the gasket. It's only $3.21 at RockAuto.com and would take about an hour to replace. Depending on whether the original UIM has been replaced or not, you might want to consider going deeper and replace it with an improved Dorman. A design flaw in the OEM one allows hot EGR gas to melt the plastic port. The Dorman has a metal sleeve to protect against that. You could go one step further and replace the POS OEM plastic LIM gasket with a metal reinforced Felpro one while your at it. If you haven't changed these andyou own the car long enough, your gonna need to change them sooner or later. Here's the gasket though

I don't have any experience with the radios, but I do know if you don't use an original radio it will affect the BCM since the security system and all the RDS stuff interfaces with it. Probably a dumb question, but why is 2.2 amps a problem? The fuse is 15A. If it is a problem I would suggest starting a new thread to see if another member can help and keep this thread on the original P0171 track.
